Hey Guys,

thoughts on what may happen this summer due to the Coronavirus? Think things will be shut down?

maybe even some of the smaller shoots included such as Keystone Open?

Maybe it’ll be a per-venue decision then again it ain’t like we shoot inside huh, in confined spaces!

not trying to stir the pot just asking for thoughts or if anyone has seen anything in writing

Thanks

Travis

You're the same guy that stirred up crap about trapshooting accidents a few days ago. Don't you have anything better to do than start shit on this site?

Pretty simple answer to you question, It will be based on what the Federal, State, Local or county will allow.

Issued today by Mike Dewine

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Gov. Mike DeWine addressed the media on Thursday afternoon in regard to the coronavirus outbreak.

Governor DeWine said he will be issuing a ban on mass gatherings of more than 100 people, which includes auditoriums, stadiums, arenas, large conference rooms, meeting halls, cafeterias, or any other confined indoor or outdoor space. He said this does not include normal operations at airports, medical facilities, grocery stores, and retail stores.

I just booked my motels for a trip to the Colorado state shoot and I made sure I had free cancellation just in case. hopefully when nice weather hits the northern states this epidemic will start to fade away. but I have no plans to stop shooting unless it is made unavailable to me.

New York just banned all gatherings exceeding 500 people, and cut building occupancy limits by 50%
Great for the LIBERALS . That way they can LIMIT crowds at polling places and do a back door ban on Political rallies , especially Trump rallies ! It can also be used to prevent the public from sitting in and commenting when local SOCIALIST government pass unconstitutional laws in the middle of the night ! Make no mistake people this is a PLAN ! Anybody who thinks differently had better pull their head out of their butt !

The Sat. Grand going on now at the Silver Dollar looks to be up in attendance. If ever there would be a group of older “at risk” folks that would be it. Doesn’t appear that the virus is holding them back. Shoot while you can and enjoy the time we have with each other!

GREAT to hear this. Glad it isn't slowing down the shooters.

This will show how much power the Federal, state and local governments have by simply issuing an emergency declaration, justified or not. The population is in a panic. Today my local, large chain grocery store looked like some of the pictures we have seen of Argentina. It's crazy out there with people stocking up on toilet paper and water. I stocked up on ribeyes, beer and wine.

Would think that it is just way to early to think about canceling a shoot in June, July, August time frame.
Something coming up soon, March, April, probably deserves a look but that also would depend on how things progress in next couple weeks.
As with most things in life time will tell.

Past all that political "emergency declaration" crap, just consider a few things for a moment. Trapshooting offers shoulder to shoulder dining, squadding, and cashiering. Many trapshooters do NOT wash up, even after using the toilet (but you see the same thing in all public restrooms such as airports, sports events, etc. ) The big danger to trapshooters is simple - many are obese and many still smoke. Fat folks who smoke do NOT want to get this new virus.

Those things I can agree with. Many are also older, and may have other health issues already. THOSE people need to take precautions, and stay home, but there is no need to cancel any event IMO. If people that know they shouldn't attend do so anyway and get sick, that is their own fault. I strongly feel the middle aged, (18-60) healthy people like myself have nothing to worry about. If I were unfortunate enough to get it, I would be willing to bet I would kick it just like the flu. Couple weeks of fluids, rest and some OTC medicine and all would be good. It is the compromised immune systems and the very young and elderly that need to be concerned, JUST LIKE EVERY ILLNESS/FLU/DISEASE.

I was told today that one of the people that was quarantined on a ship was released today. He was interviewed and said that had he not been tested and TOLD he had it, he never would have known. He had a little dry cough and would have chalked it up to allergies and gone on with life as normal. Good for him, but I guess bad for someone he might have passed it onto.

The whole thing is being blown way out of proportion.

The flu and cold season runs between October and March. I don’t think shooting during the summer months will be a problem, but by all means stay home. I don’t like large crowds anyway. We do not live in the United States of Snowflakes.......or do we?

My thoughts exactly Rick. Please stay home ,Especially if you are in my class and have a higher average than mine. While they are out buying mask and hording toilet paper I 'll be washing my hands in the rest room ,then headed out to the trap line and just maybe have a better chance of getting a trophy. :)
