Well, since this story is getting legs the mainstream media is finally having to deal with it. NBC NEWS apparently had the interns burning the midnight oil to find an example where the victim was black and, of course, that anomalous footage is what they opened with. This NBC NEWS piece was re-run on the TODAY show this morning.

Then they quickly said "Police say young men have made sport of trying to knock people out for DECADES (emphasized), it's just that now there's the internet."

They also said "Although there have been only a HANDFUL of these assaults across the country, lawmakers are looking for harsher penalties."

During the entire story there was no mention of race whatsoever, much less the fact that nearly all the attacks involve black perpetrators attacking non-black victims. After this story they immediately went into a heart warming story about a sweet young African American ballet dancer who is feeling "a lot of pressure to carry an entire race." How hilariously cooked-up was this crock of sh!t, LOL. It's like the masses have gotten so dumbed down that their masters don't even need to disguise the spoon-feeding of propaganda anymore.

The point here is simple -- journalism and journalistic integrity in this country is now the exception, not the rule. The rule is now yellow journalism. Use your brain, turn off the Fox News Channel once in a while, and watch what your kids and grandkids and the neighbors are watching. Understand why Americans are becoming so dumbed down and abandoning the honesty and values of our parents' generation. They literally can not even see what's going on around them.

Gary - I agree with you. Fortunately, there are enough sources on the internet today that you can not only be informed with current news, you can fact-check it almost instantaneously when you get it. TV and talk radio are controlled by ratings = dollars. Those qualities that you mentioned do not come into play unfortunately.

Gary,

It's the same with local news around here. If a person of color, especially a black, commits a crime, they go to great lengths to avoid describing the perpetrator's race, not so with a white criminal. They feel quite free to tell the public that whites were out doing wrongs.

It's not about ratings, or money, or even accurately reporting the crime. They don't want the general population to get the impression that people of color are out there victimizing others. It's another form of reverse discrimination.
