It seems he could have drove away...There always will be punks with loud stereo's.(I was one years ago}.
And..Gun clubs with loud reports.

Mr. Dunn failed to choose wisely.

If Dunn had driven down the street a few blocks and called the police and told them what happen he would be in a lot less trouble. He not only left the scene he left town and did not say anything to anybody.
The State Attorney is the one who lost the Zimmerman case and she is trying to look better by winning this one. Dunn is white and the victim was a black teenager.
Sadly Dunn is probably going to go away for a long time.

When he walked back to his car retrieved a 9mm from the glove box, walked back to the suv full of teenagers, then shot up the vehicle killing one 17 yr old. He sealed his fate.
(If his gun was on him, it would have looked better.} poor decision, all the way around.

It's going to boil down whether the jury believes his story about a gun and gives him the benefit of the doubt over the young men leaving the scene and disposing of the gun. Or whether they feel his actions before, during and after the shooting cast doubt on his claim. Or if they show bias either way based upon race.
At this point I'm leaning towards him being found guilty, but a lot is going to depend on how the jury views it.

I think shannon touched on the crucial point. It doesn't really matter if the car load had a gun or not. He left the immediate scene and walked to his vehicle to retrieve his gun. At that point he could have called 911 as he drove away. Instead he retrieved that gun and returned to the scene and shot up a car load of people. You just can't do that. As stated above in another post, had the kids produced a weapon and he had his in his pocket or waistband, then it would have looked more like a spur of the moment reaction for self defense. He's screwed.

A bad situation, but the stage was set long before this shooting....
Outside of Miami, Jacksonville is the most dangerous city in Florida.
Some parts (as in many cities) you just don't visit after dark!
After watching Jacksonville news for any period of time you can almost assume that if any type of confrontation, one side will have a gun (and use it).
A high number of black on black shootings in parts of Jacksonville. You can almost guess what part of Jacksonville the shooting took place before it's announced.
Large crowd incidents involving black youth are usually downplayed by the news.
A high drop out rate and many one parent families.
I could go on and on, but you get the picture, a picture that can be seen in many cities.
