I read this on another board and thought I'd pass it along.

There was a legend - disproved later, I think - that Billy the Kid had dimes loaded a shotgun that he killed a jail guard with. It may have been on "Mythbusters".

Anyway, this guy loads up with dimes and shoots at various objects and reports the results with pictures. I thought shot was expensive!

I have heard this story for years, But did not know the truth of it.

I guess he gets his hull, powder, and wad for free as he states it only cost $1.60 to have the fun and he used 16 dimes.I think it might do more damage at close range and could very easly kill a person. Ray

Old timers used to determine the degree of choke in a trapgun barrel by using a dime in the muzzle as a gauge. It was an easy way to find the full and modified barrel on a SxS double. The dime would not have cleared a choked barrel. But that was then - - -.
