Don’t deprime it!!!! It isn’t worth the risk of the primer going off. Believe me, you don’t want to experience that inside your house. Ask me how I know.p about it. Hint: I was using a MEC loader. But this danger isn‘t unique to MECs.

If I have a loaded, uncrimped shell, I dump the shot back into the shot bottle, use a shell cutter to cut the hull, retrieve the wad, dump the powder into the powder bottle, and step outside and fire the cutoff empty primed shell, and throw away the hull.

If the primer is pressed in at an angle, recover your components, and throw the primed shell in the trash.

Better safe than sorry.
