we are getting ready to board the bus to leave the Las Vegas Hotel and ride to the Clark County Shooting Park. I have met old frinds from last year and make new ones for this year. Targets are nice and when the wind blows (which it does) well it makes it more like duck hunting teal. Two 100 target handicap today. Tomorrow we have the Las Vegas 500 shooters join us as well. Going to catch the bus..... ths is another story a cheese head in Vegas Paul Becker
Talked to my friends in Vegas last night during their Wednesday night league shoot.........they did not even know there was a 'shoot' going on. 2 RVs on the shoot line parking. Jen and I will be in Vegas tonight........I'll check it out...........Jerry
I got a call from my buddy Bill Sergent last night and he said he took Champion of the handicap event. He hit a 97 and got a one yard punch. He said there were about 33 shooters...he also said the wind was blowing between 20 and 40 MPH. He sent pics of the flag blowing sideways and he said he was having to brace himself during the handicap to keep from being blown over.
If I recall last year they had to cancel one day of this shoot because of winds. No big dogs then either. Your ensinuation is off base as big difference from 60+ mph at State Shoot time when it was cancelled on Sunday.
Shoot was not cancelled because of averages but simply safety was a concern. I was there and absolutely support the NSTA decision.
Also at the state shoot, you could not call for a target. They just kept coming one after another with the high winds. 50 plus gusts. Had one shooter try a practice round and he was a good size man and he walked back and said "Can't do it"
We are having lots of fun meeting new people and visiting with old friends. Today is the last day and we will attend the awards banquet tonight. This is like a diamond in the rough. Would be nice if more would come we find it a great value for shooting at a premium facility.
