Hello, Am new to site, and was told this was the place to go for info on trap. Can any one tell me when KS-5 production started and when it stoped? also what years were they imported by mel hunting? I have an older one I am trying to date. Any info on KS-5 would be helpful, thanks JB

Thanks guys, The only marking on bbl is imported by melvin j hunting bell mead new jersey. And on bottom 18.6mm and the ser no. On the base block of bbl it says shotguns of ULM, made in west germany, and what looks like 12/70. I have tried the question wiyh Kriegkoff USA but got no answer yet.JB

The "12/70" indicates it is chambered for 70mm 12-gauge shells.

I also was unaware that anyone other than Krieghoff International ever imported any KS-5s. The K-80 was only ever imported by KI and it came out five years before the KS-5. I once owned the 236th KS-5 made, a Scroll Arabesque grade gun, and it bore no markings other than the typical Krieghoff ones. Strange...

I have a copy of a Sept 1988 American Rifleman article on the Shotguns of Ulm KS5.

The serial # of the pictured gun is 15390, so that one was made before 9/88.

Hope this helps.
