Cataracts aren't that big a deal but the bleeding situation is. See a specialist ASAP. Do not wait 6 months on this in my opinion. I have some serious eye issues myself.
Cataracts, but not due for removal yet. Raging glaucoma ( on 2 meds for pressure) and macular degeneration Last year I was sent to a specialist for macular & they found a torn retina, My regular eye doc missed it. Had surgery. Going back again in January & every 4 months. My end result won't be good as none of these are curable but are treatable to slow progression. DO NOT play around with this, you only have one set of eyes. Colonel
Was your regular eye doc an ophthalmologist?

Had an insurance change, went to Kaiser. First check up they checked my eyes due to diabetes. They found abnormal in right eye. Scheduled visit with opthalmologist, who said I need ed laser surgery on right, not left and I also had cataracts. Explained what was happening in there and proceeded to Zap me. Sent me to see head of ophthamolgy and she did several laser treatments. Said it was needed to prevent bleeding/vision loss, before cataract removal. Covid came and interrupted treatment. I need to get stated again. Recreational shooter. Luckily I shoot left-handed. Good luck to you.

My previous MD kept referring me to get my eyes checked. I felt good and didn't feel I had an issue. Hope all works out for the best.

Check out Cole Institute in Cleveland Ohio. They do some great things. If you are near Erie Pennsylvania, my father in law just found out he had bleeders and a week later they were repaired.
