I know trap shooters are excellent cooks and it's Christmas when families gather. I found this receipe last night in a "Land of Cotton" cook book that my wife has had for years. Under "soups" and on page 49 is the following.

ELEPHANT STEW

1 MEDIUM ELEPHANT BROWN GRAVY
SALT 2 RABBITS optional
PEPPER

Cut elephant into bite size pieces. This should take about two months. Cover with brown gravy. Cook over kerosene fire for about 4 weeks at 375 degrees. This will serve 3,800 people. IF more are expected, 2 rabbits may be added, but do this only if necessary as most people do not like to find a hare in their stew.

Jim Porter Yield 3,800 servings

when i first got into sales- advice i received from an seasoned salesman was--"when calling on a new large account-the best way to get them is like eating an elephant-- eat them one bite at a time and stay at it-eventually you'll have them"!!
