So sorry Bird, losing your pet/friend is heartbreaking, been there too many times.

Birdk9, So Sorry for your loss. I've been there many times myself in the past. FWIW What brings Peace to myself is, I've come to realize its worth the heartache of putting them in the ground, For the what seems like too short amount of time we get to spend with them on this earth...They truely are mans BEST FRIEND!!! Like Ron Z said above Time is the healer.

I read that a dog can retrieve a stick up to a mile away.
Sounds a bit far fetched to me..😁
