In the market for a new vehicle. The Jeep Compass looks pretty good at this point. I was going to get a Wrangler, but for what you get, they are a little pricey. In Vermont, so lots of bad weather usage. Wife has a Rav 4, which is our primary vehicle. Used vehicles are so salt riddled, you are almost forced into new vehicles.

Any comments, thoughts appreciated.

Salt. Detroit's best friend.

Oregon has been salt free on roads for a long time, but sadly is going to start salting in for 11 miles on I-5 near the California border, and 120 miles of Hwy 95 between Idaho and Nevada, because people won't run winter tires or chains.

Pandering to the least common denominator again.

<i>"But but but we HAVE to drive like demons in winter conditions! Chains slow me down! And studded tires cost money! Wah!"</i>
