Is this the new going rate for a 34" 870/1100 barrel?

I was casually watching this on eBay, I thought they were already more than they were really worth at around $400 but not unreasonable given the scarcity. $670 seems out of reality.

They were bringing 450-500 a decade ago, so it's a touch high, but not insane especially in an auction.

All Rem barrels have gone up in value. A dead clean 1100 30" trap barrel will bring $300-400 these days, a fixed choke skeet barrel will bring $250+.

The days of finding vent rib 1100 barrels that aren't beat to death and have worn out locking block cuts for 150 bucks are LONG gone.

A clean Remington 870/1100 trap stock set will bring $400-500 bucks on ebay, even if it's not super fancy. Even field wood can bring a couple hundred bucks for a set that doesn't look like it was dragged by a truck.

Whatever you think a barrel was worth before COVID, tack on at least $100 now, Remington is gone, clay target stuff is likely never coming back, and inflation has driven up prices.

I'm seriously happy I got most of everything Remington related I really wanted years ago, about the only thing I still watch for is a light contour 1100 target barrel, one of the few I don't have.

Or what I experience more and more these days is that I get a sense of relief when something I'm on the fence about gets bid out of my price range and makes the choice easy for me.

When I went to in-person local auctions (which don't exist in my area any more, EVERYTHING is online only since COVID and will likely never go back), I always had a spreadsheet printed that equated bid price to what you'd actually pay w/ premium and tax. That kept me out of a LOT of trouble.

I always check with the Remington gunsmiths (in the Fiocchi bldg.) at the Grand every year. The always have lots of Remington barrels. 34" 1100 barrels 750-800. That was for the Duck & Goose barrel.

I had a 34" 1100 Duck & Goose barrel. I now have a 34" 1100 trap barrel. FYI.......There is a difference between the trap barrel and the Duck & Goose barrel. Check the gas port or ports.;);)

This 1100 version topped out yesterday at $511:

I saw there's also a 34" 870 waterfowl barrel currently listed. One thing about those puzzles me - why were they chambered 2 3/4"? A 3" chambered barrel would've still been functional on a 2 3/4" action, and I would think the guys with the Magnum actions would've made good use of the added 3" capability.
