Yes...bunker trap and skeet and mostly sporting clays set up between hills and mountains. No American trap though. No guns for rent. Ammo available from gun stores. You can do "google" search and you will see sporting clay set like a resort.
You are so right!! It's been over 40 years and I can still smell that stench walking over the bridge into Olongapo (sp) I also remember eyeing this one girl until I saw her nibbling a un-hatched duck out of an egg. Barf. Oh, the stories I shouldn't describe on this board!!!
I was AF - Clark AFB - Angeles City right outside the gate. You guys got me thinking, reminiscing, just had to look it up. Bar fines used to be $12, don't know what they are now but the LBFMs are still there. Like Rick said - you can tell people about it (some, you'd better not) but if you haven't been there you just have no idea: Here's a recent pic from one of the clubs.
Edited - internet search says bar fine is now 1,000 PHP ($24.59)
Have just been in contact with a friend who is the president of an international electronics company headquartered in the Philippines. He lives in the greater Manila area. He also has homes here in the United States and has shot American-style trap here.
He says there is American-style trap shooting in the Philippines and promises me on my next trip that he will arrange a weekend of trap shooting using any German or Italian made trap gun I wish.
On previous trips he has arranged complete IPSC pistol competitions.
So, yes, there is trap shooting in the Philippines.
