Is a Perazzi Grand American 88 type 3 or type 4? Want to see if a type 4 barrel will work on a Grand American 88

A Grand American 88 is a type 4 gun. A type 4 barrel will work.

The mail differene is the forearm attachement- there were various placement positions of the top lever release pin

I think all Grand Americans were type 4 werent they? I have a grand american unsingle combo and it is a type 4

Gene, yes, all GA 88 are type 4.

The forend & barrel under lug are different from type 3. See pic.

I had and have a GA1 and it is a type 4 also

is that not the case with all Grand America 1s?

Date of manufacture is the criteria, so I'm guessing that all GA's were T4. I'm not sure where the turning point was but I have a couple '77/'78 and they are T4 forends with the center trip lever release. The three '80's guns here are all T4 of course, with the right side lever release and I have no certain date for that transition. Prolly enough P-gun folks here to get the data to fix that if someone doesn't already know. The good news is that the hangers do look really different even if you don't have the forend.
