I've had this Krieghoff for awhile now and wanted some info. This is the first and only K gun I have owned so I dont know much about them. Looked all over the net for a San Remo unsingle and have come up empty handed? Could this be a K80 barrel fit to a K32 receiver and then stamped with the same serial number?

Serial #'s match (5k series), receiver/forend/barrel. 34" unsingle with Briley S-12 tubes (M,IM,F). New American walnut Wenig wood, 15" with thick pad, Rt hand palm swell. Just reblued. Rib re-anodized(aluminum). Porting unknown who. Is this a San Remo? Gun will be for sale and Im trying to figure out a value. Blue Book doesnt list a K32 Unsingle.

Please ask questions, I really dont know too much about this gun. Lots of pics, sorry dial-upers1

Thank you!

Nice gun-

The bottom of the receiver looks like it was buffed pretty good at some time and that shows on the engraving- might have rusted or been scrathed but sides look good in the photo

nice wood

Barrel didnt come with that gun- it was put together by someone- maybe special order to simmons or allems( they had krieghoff put some together over the years)--- and it was reserialnumbed to the receiver

Trigger Shoe from http://www.t-grips.com/TriggerShoeHomepage1.html

I was thinking on asking $5250. I would like to get what I have in it, out of it, but that may be unrealistic. Does $5250 sound crazy?

Eric the barrels came with the receiver and some one took a krieghoff unsingle top tube and rib and fitted it to the origional 0/U monoblock. The top barrel and rib were from a Mel Hunting import I suspect from the rib tupe barrel hanger and blastd finish.

If some one were to want to make this gun today Ifigure it would cost considerably more than your asking but in this market it's anyones guess.

For A refernce I just saw a perfect San Remo with K 80 wood and updated sears for $7000 it was an O/U 32"and I think more desirable. It was mint metal and wood not a reblue.

I think your in the neighborhood.

If you want to trade for some $ and work PM or e-mail me.

On the unsingle

I dont think that is what happened- the back of the rib is different and notice the non screw in ejector- plus picture makes ejector look thinner

Back in the 80's Allems had a bunch of Model 32 O/U barrels with vandalia ribs. They had Krieghoff make unsingles with a rib height to match the vandalia rib so they could sell them as combos. I'm sure they would fill you in if you contacted them.

The unsingle is a higher rib to match the Vandalia rib barrels-allem made aprox 50 of them but after talking with Dieter Krieghoff and John Allem Sr I found that Krieghoff also made a limited run of them. Most of them were aluminum ribs but some were steel. The aluminum rib barrels were much lighter and some people would over swing on angles and if you adjusted for a 100 % high point of impact-like Steve Huber did you could start to bend the rib a little.Dieter said if asked they would pre bend the barrel a little so that wouldn't happen.

Anyway they both-Krieghoff & Allems got away from making them. I did have one and from the pic's above that is what you have-weather or not it was original Krieghoff or Allems I don't know but if you show it to John Allem Sr he could tell you who made it.

Back then they would stamp a number on them to match your receiver to make a matching combo.

Allem told me they still get people looking for those barrels. They are higher ribbed than a standard k-80, except for the trap special.

I had a aluminum rib barrel stamped imported from Germany for Mel Hunting NJ. It had the same rib height as standard K-80, but was a broadway rib.The back of the rib where it joins the stub barrel is solid because it is joined to the stub with screwes where a steel rib is open and you can see a space between both and is silver sodered.

Jo-Jo

I have seen the wide rib barrel you speak of. A friend of mine from Berks County Pa had one years ago. I shot with him many times in fact we both ran 100 straight on the same squad at Perry Twp gun club around 1989 or 1990 in the club championship.
But that was the only one I ever saw. They do exist,I've seen one. Not sure where he got it though. But it is very different from the higher rib shown in photo's above on original post. Very interesting that you mentioned it as I had forgotten all about that style. Thanks for reminding me.
