I am going to have Bbl re-ribbed to shoot 25"inches high at 30 yards am pondering whether to use Moneymaker or Simmons do the job, are there other
Rib Installers I should consider? Been quoted $400 to do it.

Or does someone have an 11-87 auto Bbl already done and wants to sell it.

I wouldn't be so sure, Wayneo. Not only do I think it's possible that someone has done this, I am absolutely certain that if he or she has, he or she would now be more than willing to sell it.

Of course you can tell, User1. At 22 inches high you can hit some, at least now and then, sometimes. At 25 it's hard to do as well.

I used to know a guy who had had a trap gun that shot 30" high at 30 yards.
This guy had very poor form and shooting geometry.
He had little if any follow through. At times it seemed as if he stopped mid-swing. He always shot late and attempted to break birds on the apex.
Any type of wind caused him problems.

I'm not implying anything here but sometimes its the user who needs modification and not the gun.

I would seriously contemplate this decision and reevaluate the variables before going forward.

i used to know a guy that had a gun that shot that high, couldn't hit a thing. I think his name was Larry Gravestock or something like that.

Randy Ross has his gun shooting this way according to an article last month in Trap and field. Ray Stafford's gun shoots 30+ inches high, along with some old timers like Larry Gravestock.

Look at the May issue of Trap and Field page 22 Phil Kiners article.

I personally like a high shooting gun, 18-20 inches high. I swapped off my CG and have a gun that shoots 100% and that is too low for me, I shootunder all my targets now.

I shot my sons gun that shoots 30"inches high at 30 yards and it is a little too high, but not extremely, it is a MX-15 that has had rib modified at both ends to shoot that high.

Randy is shooting an MX-2000RS 34/32 combo that shoots 30"inches at 30 yards.

I have a sight picture that I shoot, and the bird is above the Bbl don't ask me how high as it changes due to target presentation such as rising target.

For the past 30 years or so I have been shooting a high shooting gun, and each several years I have had a gun shoot a higher POI.

I am now at a point that 18" inches is too low for me.

I don't know which gun I am going to have re-ribbed, but am leaning toward Moneymaker doing it. I have talked to Jay this past week about it, he said he wants the whole gun to shoot and pattern.

Now I straight edge the rib that is the beads are directly behind each other, not stacked, as I never could stack the beads.

My best handicap averages were with a high shooting Seitz, and my previous Caesar Guerini. Well the Guerini is gone.

So now it is on to another gun and a new POI 25"inches at 30 yards.

You should get it 30 inches high, that way you will grow into it. The correct ratio is 1 inch for each yard, 30 yards = 30 inches high. HMB

...bet you ten bucks that by Christmas, she's shooting them through this barrel.

I know that some of you guys cannot handle a gun that shoots high but there are quite na few of us who can handle and need a gun that shoots high. Everyones hold point and where and when he sees the target is different, but each to his own. What matters is having a gun that shoots to your specs.

I bought the 11-87 auto to possibly give it a try on, it has a release trigger
and recoil will be low and I also like the ability to reset the release without having to pull the bolt back like on a Beretta Auto, The 11-87 has a Timney Steel Release trigger and if I don't shoot all I have to do is push the 870 style slide release and it dis-engages the release hook, when shooting buddies this works great.

The Devault 391 w/ adjustable rib shoots high but not high enough, I owned 2 of them, very nice guns, but don't like pulling the bolt back to reset release.

I am now looking into something else, will know in a week if it will work it is cheaper and less involved.
