A 5 gallon bucket holds about 440* give or take.

55 gallons worth would total 24,200, give or take.

* Once fired STS.
Assuming your first statement is correct, the total for 55 gallons is way off. Better go back to math class.

Was wondering if anyone had a number on how many 2.75"/12ga hulls a 55gal barrel will hold?
Around 5000. I used to have a barrel full of pressure-tested STS hulls. They had a small indent just above the base. Finally got tired of moving things around that barrel (I stopped reloading in 1978) so gave it to the Rockingham Gun Club when I moved from NC to TX.

Who in their right mind would put loaded shells in a 55 gallon drum?

So can we ass-u-me that phesantmaster means empty 12 ga hulls?

Jason
Since he said "hulls", and he tends to be a pretty straight shooter, (pun intended) it's a safe assmuption he meant hulls.

I'll say 5137. :sneaky:
