Was wondering if anyone had a number on how many 2.75"/12ga hulls a 55gal barrel will hold?
That’s assuming they’re all of one type, same size base and......you get the idea. Besides, he didn’t offer a prize so I’ll just watch.Weigh the Barrel empty and full then weigh one hull and do the math.
Assuming your first statement is correct, the total for 55 gallons is way off. Better go back to math class.A 5 gallon bucket holds about 440* give or take.
55 gallons worth would total 24,200, give or take.
* Once fired STS.

Around 5000. I used to have a barrel full of pressure-tested STS hulls. They had a small indent just above the base. Finally got tired of moving things around that barrel (I stopped reloading in 1978) so gave it to the Rockingham Gun Club when I moved from NC to TX.Was wondering if anyone had a number on how many 2.75"/12ga hulls a 55gal barrel will hold?
Since he said "hulls", and he tends to be a pretty straight shooter, (pun intended) it's a safe assmuption he meant hulls.Who in their right mind would put loaded shells in a 55 gallon drum?
So can we ass-u-me that phesantmaster means empty 12 ga hulls?
