I'm curious how long it has taken different shooters to reach the classic shooting milestones (i.e. 25, 50, 75, 100, 200 ... straight)?!

This is my first year of regular shooting, it took me ~4 months to break 25 straight and ~7 months for 50 (this Sunday actually). Hoping to get to 75 and 100 sometime this year!

3 months for 25, 9 months and hit first 50, 75, 100 same day. A year and a half later I have had several 99s but the 2nd 100 straight has been elusive, dam I love this game!

I got my first 25 in a league I participated in about 10 years ago. I wasn't at all serious about the game – I just shot occasionally for fun and as practice for bird hunting.

I got the 50, 75 and 100 at my seventh registered event, which was 10 months after my first one.

This is my 45th year trapshooting. Still working on milestones in this sport. Never seem to tire of it. Hope it still turns me on in another 20 or so.

Shot my first 25 in January last year. Nine months after starting this sport. Shot my first 50 straight shooting a registered (ATA) shoot in June of last year. Still looking for the 75 straight. Closest I got was 73 straight. Then blew it. I’ve been shooting a little over a year and a half

According to T&F, a milestone reflects registered target accumulation. They are reported at 25k, 50k, 75k, 100k and each 100k increment thereafter. Combined milestones (all three disciplines combined) start at 250k and run in increments of 250k.

A straight reflects a perfect score in registered competition. They used to report high scores. 200s in singles, 100s in doubles and 100s in handicap were reported every time you fired one. I think they have discontinued the high score reporting and only report the first straight in one’s career.

I began registering in 1981. I did not register in 1983 or 1984. I think I only registered 400 targets in 1985.

I fired my first registered 100 in singles in 1986. I fired my first registered 200 in singles in 1989. I fired my first registered 100 in doubles in 1997. I have yet to fire a 100 straight in handicap.

I reached the 250,000 combined milestone in 2016. I followed up with 100,000 singles and 75,000 handicap in the 2017 target year. I would like to reach 100k in doubles this year but it will most likely be next year. If there were more marathons like there used to be; I could probably get them in this year.

Milestones and straights are very satisfying. I hope each of you obtain many of each.

Got my first 25 straight a few months after I started. 50 straight was a struggle. Shot hundreds of 49's trying to get there over a couple years. About a month after the first 50 straight, I got 75 and 100 the same day.

IDK, it was over 30 years ago-I've been out of Trap shooting for 30 years. Got my first 25 (and the beer bird) before I could legally have the beer, I'd say 2nd year in. 50 same year. 100, 2 years after that at the State Shoot. Have never done 200.
