Some European coaches teach a low guttural "arrgghh". The theory is that the making of the "p" sound alters the shape of the face and pushes the comb away from the head.

I just say "pull". Although sometimes "release the hounds" might be fun.

I use a firm strong PULL. I do know some who have to use unique calls to get the voice release to work.

I just use the regular "pull."

However, if I'm the squad leader and have to call for the show target at the start of the round, I go with "Whoomp. There it is."

Pull and sometimes ull (no p). I have heard some weird ones like the yipper guy (yiiiipppp!) There was one guy that shot at our club for a while that I swear was using a duck caller but apparently that sound was coming from his mouth.

I just holler "LOST." It seems to save time and bother for the scorer.

It was very interesting watching the target call and how it affected gun movement when working with many shooters utilizing the ShotKam over the past couple of years.

Every shooter who called for the target with the word "pull" exhibited a slight drop of the gun barrel and those that used grunts or sounds that did not cause the jaw to drop showed far less movement.

Don't know what you can read into that, I submit it just as an observation.
