That’s a pretty light charge of Titewad. I’ve been shooting 16.2gr with Claybuster 1oz Fig 8 wads. The stack height is good. They’re very soft shooting shells. Like MG suggested, I’d bump up your powder charge and/or try a different wad. I’m loving the 16.2 charge at the moment.

I have dropped in a spent primer after seating the wad before dropping the lead.
Never noticed a problem.
That's really NOT a very smart thing to do. Being that a spent primer weighs in excess of 10 times that of a #8 lead pellet, you have now placed a projectile into your payload that could travel FAR beyond the intended drop zone of ANY gun club.
This practice is completely incompetent!
