There two clubs nere Beaumont, Tx. The 101 in Lumberton they have Skeet, Trap, 5 Stand and Sporting clays. The other Is my club The Orange Gun Club we have Skeet, Trap, and 5 Stand. We do not shoot reg birds but good place to shoot for fun. We also have pistol, rifle, cowboy action, and one of few full auto ranges in the state of Texas.
The Metro club outside of Houston shoots Reg trap most Sundays.
Texans didn't give up trap, the ranges are just few and far between in our area of South Texas.
Metro is definitely the "go-to" spot when in the Houston area, great folks and a super place to shoot. Registered targets on Sundays, and a lot of times they also shoot practice on Saturdays. Houston is mainly a sporting clays city, with LOTS of places withing a 50 mile radius of downtown Houston. For a list of ranges in the area, go to http://www.shooterspageTX.com and go to the range info "pull-down" and Cindy Barton (website creator) has info on all kind of ranges around the area.
My home club (Victoria Skeet and Trap Club) throws registered targets occasionally, haven't had time this year to schedule any events, but plan to do this in the near future. The Fayette County Gun Club (just north of La Grange, TX) is having a registered practice shoot next Saturday (Nov. 14). They are about 4 miles north of La Grange just off Hwy. 77. Info on the FCGC can be found at http://www.fayettecountygunclub.com
