When you take part in a shoot, whether a registered ATA event or just a local club shoot, do you expect to come home with a prize (money, trophy, etc.) or hope to come home with one? Or does it even matter?

An average shooter says, "I hope I can make this damn shot."

A top shooter says, "I damn well better make this shot."

well, it depends on the level of shoot. at a local shoot, I often expect to win. At a state or satellite, I'd like to win. At the Grand, I'd like to get a sniff of a shootoff...

One of my friends is an All-American. A few years ago we went to the Grand and stood in line to pay. I got to the front and paid for the whole shoot since I didn't want to stand in line again. He paid for only through the first handicap or the first day, whichever came first, I don't recall exactly.......anyway, I asked him why he did this since he would have to stand in line again. He said he would use his winnings to pay for the rest of the shoot.......and that is just what he did.

So........I guess if you expect to win you will? Or might? :)
