I acquired a couple pounds of Hodgdon clays powder and I was wondering how it performs in cold weather? What is a good 1oz. load for this powder using sts hulls, winchester primers and tgt wads?

16.5 Clays, and Remington STS clone wad will break 16's all day long with 1oz. of either 7 1/2 or 8 shot.

all our 1oz loads we use homemade shot and about 17-17.2gr. breaks them

Winning combo. Clays is outstanding powder for 1oz. 12ga. loads...even in cold weather. Just keep the load PSI in a reasonable range and you will not have any issues.
