Ok MEC guys, I picked this MEC 9000 up and it is in the need of rebuilding, the shell plate is bent etc, I have it down to bare bones, the last thing I need to remove is the main shaft, everthing is loose, all the bolts are and removed, ? is, what else to I need to do to get the main shaft out

Remove the socket head cap screw that is shown above center in the middle of your 2nd pic.

Skeet man, The hexed bolt is removed and that is as far up as it will go

Not talking about the hex bolt, talking about the socket head cap screw here.

Download the manual. Then lift the spring and hold it up with a nail thru the hole in the main square shaft. Then as Smingler says remove the allen head screw.

You can't rebuild the press with out the Manuel. MEC has a PDF file for it.
If you can't take it apart how are you going to put it together.
