I live in The Villages & the snow birds are descending en mass. Today I saw a family who was riding in golf cart & the woman was holding a one year old on her lap. I stopped them & told her you can't hold that child if something goes wrong. The grandfather, the carts owner got in my face. I told him I had seen children killed by brain shear who were strapped in child seats, when I was a volunteer firefighter. Golf carts are not entertainment vehicles---we've had several fatalities this season.

Good for you. No fun responding to an accident and find seat belts or child seats were not used. If only....

Not saying a cart needs belts, but you need to know your limitations.

hate to say it--in Fl the only criteria for golf carts are the driver must be 14 yrs old & the cart can't exceed 20mph-- its totally screwed up !!!! Its not a motor vehicle,seat belts,child seats do not apply !!!
