Been loading some gold medal papers.
Book calls for 18.5 grains of green dot when using 12s3 wad and fed. Primer to achieve 1145 FPS. Ran out of paper hulls switched over to old gold medal plastics and book calls for 19.5 grains
To achieve the same FPS. Why such a big difference when using same components?

I haven't loaded them in a ****'s age, but it seems like everything I've read on here and a few other boards recommends to increase a grain in the papers to achieve the same velocity as the plastics. Or was it increase a grain in the paper base wad hulls vs the plastic basewad hulls. Whatever, your statement above seems hinky to me. Look forward to someone with more info to reply.
