In the near future, Clark County will be posting a job position for a SHOOTING RANGE SPECIALIST to be hired to manage the trap, skeet & sporting clays operations at the Clark County Shooting Complex. I'm currently working with my assistant to submit the information to our Human Resources Department.

This is an opportunity to be part of a 5-star operation and have a position with real security and great benefits. This is a C25 level position in the Clark County structure. You can visit the Clark County website at www.clarkcountynv.gov, then click on Departments, then Human Resources, then Job Descriptions to see a general description of the position.

The position will require a strong resume' including a great deal of clay target experience. All specific requirements and full job description should be disclosed within the next month. Once posted, I will follow up here with the information.

This will be a nationally advertised position. I would ask that you do not contact me directly about this position to avoid any chances of collusion; something that is not taken lightly in Clark County. I will dispense information to all on this site as it becomes available.

I've resided in Las Vegas for over 26 years. Living in the NW part of the valley has been extremely enjoyable, and similar to living in any other area of the U.S. Can't really think of anywhere else I would rather be, and the "Strip" is only 10 miles away if I feel the urge. Great restaurants and entertainment, and who knows, the Raiders may be here soon.

Steve, I'll be in your neck of the woods tomorrow (Sunday) for a quick birthday celebration.....but not for any job hunt! Good luck finding the perfect person. I have fond memories of all the shoots you hosted, the fun that Leo and I had at your club will always bring a smile.

With all due respect, your statement about Clark County and collusion is laughable. Nevada, Las Vegas and Clark
County are synonymous with graft, corruption and collusion.
You personally may be of outstanding character.

Nevada reeks of the stench from Harry Reid and is forever stained. Don't kid yourself.

Remdog1187 - the only good thing Reid did was fund the Clark County Shooting Facility.
Steve does a great job running the place and has my respect. Lots of good people in Vegas, lots of not so good.
Los Angeles has its problems, as do a lot of cities (Detroit, Chicago, Washington DC, etc).
Just my opinion.

Dave-320c,

I agree with you totally. Steve is an honorable man.
Vegas is pretty much like any other city once you get off the strip.

This thread was started by Steve.

I believe both of these positions he mentions will be working for him, unless his job has changed.

This thread is interesting, at least.
It's a job announcement for great positions at a premium gun club.

Yet, before many posts, a tirade against a retired politician, a slam against all of Las Vegas, old guy's plying to be asked to apply, and a recommendation for the gentleman who wrote the damn ad to apply for it himself.

Unbelievable.

Patience, Steve, patience.

Sounds like a good job for someone. I have shot at both ranges and they are very nice and the people working there are nice and helpful too.

Does anyone have a ballpark figure what the annual compensation would be for a medium sized gun club, open four days a week? I know there are many variables, but a guestimate will do. Send a pm if you like. Thanks!

Well, when I did it a few years ago, I got free coffee, if I made it, a gun club hot dog for lunch, if I cooked them, and all the Walmart empty hulls I wanted. End of compensation package.
