This is an original 12ga skeet set, unaltered. It came off about a 1960 skeet gun. It has the original metal grip cap, according to Madis these caps were used as early as 1946 on some, including skeet guns. This is also the cap used on many of the Y series. LOP is 13 1/2 without pad or butt plate. The pad is a Whiteling Pachmeyr but does not has "Winchester" on it, again according to Madis, not all did. The wood has been cleaned and the finish refreshed..no sanding, one small ding under grip near cap, otherwise about perfect....$425 delivered...Thanks, WC

I don't claim to be an expert, but if you look on page 96 of George Madis's book..."The Winchester Model Twelve, he states"...standard buttplates are not found very often on Skeet Guns, especially Twelve gauge."...there are other places, and pics in his book and others where recoil pads were factory installed...WC
