I have decided to sell one of my Al Biesen rifles to finance another project and will offer it here first. This is a really nice early ,50's, 25/06 rifle built on a Mauser action with a Lyman All American 8x scope. This was built for Dr. E.M. Wygant of Lewiston Idaho, Dr. Wygant was Jack O'Connor's dentist and the 2 were hunting partners of Al's. The rifle has been hunted with but taken very good care of. It will come with the RCBS dies and brass and ammo. I have a ton of pictures I will send if you ask, just need an email address. I am asking $3500 shipped. If you have questions please call me any time. Thanks for looking.

That is an absolutey fantastic price for one of Al's rifles. A new one is a about a 4+ year wait (or more) and will set you back at least $6000 depending on the wood.

Yes Al is one of the great ones, I had a very good visit with him right before he really went down hill, health wise. All he wanted to do was tell old hunting stories and show me pictures of his hunts which was OK with me. I asked him what his favorite ctg. was and he told me straight out that as far as he was concerned there was only one, a 30/06. I was told recently that Al, near 90, is now in a home and has Alzhimers and hardly knows anyone. Son Roger, a great gun builder is still carrying on the Biesen fine guns and his grand daughter is a very good engraver.

Piece of history, I will look through some papers and books to see if I can find a picture for you to add the provenance!

To the top one last time for a fine rifle. I would possibly consider money and the right trade.
