I've used them and a similar load from Winchester with my metro on the 16 yard line just for fun. They are fine on straightaways but you will get frustrated trying to find the sweet spot for the angles and hard lefts and rights. I'd say you will probably achieve the same goal you are looking for with a low recoil 1150 1 oz load and the kids will hit more targets. Just my opinion.
