Federal Top Gun hulls

My wife has been after me for a while to reload the pink Federal Top Gun hulls for her. I resisted as I have been reloading Win and Rem hulls and didn't want to get different components for the Federals. I finally relented and have been reloading some of the pinks that I will surprise her with. However, I am sure I am going to get "the look" when I tell her they are one and dones and she should empty them in the trash after she shoots them. So, I am just wondering if any of you reload them more than one time and how that has worked for you. Thanks.

I've reloaded them more than 5 times, for a very long time.

Maybe tell her she has to wear one of those pink knitted two pronged hats to shoot pink bullets.
I really like Top Gun hulls. Using proper components, they load and crimp beautifully. I usually get 3 or 4 loadings before pitching them. They are so easy to get that I pitch them earlier than I would a premium hull.
Check your load manual and load away!

I like the pink hulls. I load them only with a 1oz. load and shoot them for the first shot in doubles and by them being titty pink I always know what they are for. I load them 2 or 3 times and drop them. They do get rather discolored pretty quick but they load and shoot just fine!
The only drawback with the pink hulls is that they show the gas carbon a lot faster than the maroon hull. I load the Top Gun hulls and drop them on the forth loading. Most will go a few times more, but why ? Bill
Good hulls to load 1 or 9/8 ounces. I have loaded many of the red, white and blue ones. They seem to be soft shooters, I guess the paper base wad helps with recoil. Good to go 4 or 5 times, probably could do more.

This is why I load them only 2 or 3 times. I pulled this out of the pipe of my Perazzi and it alarmed me enough to stop loading them so many times.

They are good hulls for reloading. I wouldn't doubt I have some I have reloaded 6 times. They are a high volume hull.
What everyone else has said! Great hulls, can load several times. It may be me, but I think the Pink, White, and Blue last longer than the Red, but they are all good. Thats all I reload. Steve

Just to follow up, what exactly did you pull out of the Perazzi? Was the base completely out of the hull and in the barrel, was the base coming out of the hull when you pulled the hull from the barrel?
I have used Top Gun Hulls for years for my Tournament and Game Loads, I have reloaded Long Shot in these hulls with 1.5oz. for those special long bomb shoots as well with no problems. 1111if your machine is set up[ correctly and you are using the right components they are just fine. Like everyone else said, 4 / 5 times and toss.
John...........The paper base was about half way down the barrel of my gun. The shot sounded a little funny when it went off. The target broke as you would hope but for some strange reason I just happened to look down the barrel after I removed the hull and didn't see what I normally do. I really thought it was just smoke so I blew down the barrel with no results and that's when the wad knocker came out and made a run thru and out came the curled up base wad! The situation didn't turn me against the cheap Federal hulls but it certainly made me more aware of what loading them to many times can net you. I still load them for the first shot in doubles and use them for practice on the 16 yard line on occasion but I just don't load them as many times as I used too...........
I like them, load them once and pitch, too many of them out there to keep count of reloadings. I buy new estates by the flat and through all emptys in a barrel and load them to go to state shoots and grand no need to return with emptys.

Bizzactly, not worth segregating, and it's nice not to have to worry about crunchy crimps, hull burn throughs, etc. Just shoot one and pick up 10 more 1x hulls, few others do it seems. I just make sure I toss mine in my own hull box in my truck and they go straight to my trash can at home.
That's all I'm loading right now and have been very happy. I've been loading them 3 times then pitching them. Seems I come home with more hulls then I left the house with loaded rounds so it's a win for me.
They are fine to reload a few times. I use them for practice shells or the first shot in Doubles.
I've got into the habit of looking down the barrel each time I eject a hull. Haven't found anything yet but it's a good habit. I usually load them three or four times and say good-by.

Like most responses, they are good for more than 1 loading but at this time i don't. I think they load nicely and have been in the habit ever since I started loading to blow out the barrels after shooting. Haven't had a basewad come out yet but the time may come eventually. I don't pick up hulls after a rain and mostly the hulls at the club are picked up daily so I feel safer only grabbing them on dry days.

A guy I was shooting with this Saturday looked down the barrel before his first round and found a wad stuck from his last round the week before.
