Any experience using Fed 12S3 wads in the Remington STS hulls?

that wad is for a straight wall hull...the Remington hulls are tapered, not a good match...

What Tony said. The hull will bulge at the bottom too.

I tried some of them in a Rem STS hull. They left a small bulge near the bottom where the hull tapers. They loaded and shot fine.

Work great in Federal Gold Medals. I use the following:

Federal Gold Medal Hull

Federal 209 Primers

17.4 Grains of Clay-Dot, or 19.5 Grains of Green Dot

Federal 12S3 wad (DownRange Clone)

1150 FPS

My problem is that I have 1000's of STS hulls and I have 1 1/2 cases of claybuster 12S3 clone wads. I did load up a few and there wasn't any bulge so maybe they are also a little smaller like the Downrange 12S3 clone. I'll have to pattern a couple to see how they act.

You should be able to find plenty of federal top gun hulls.
