Is that factory wood? Most 788's had cheap wood but the wood didn't make them shoot. That one is pretty! A friend has one in .222, same hole if he can hold it on.

320090T, one of my buddy's has one of those .222 tack drivers also! It's accuracy is amazing in how well they shoot almost one hole groups!

Nice looking gun. Believe they out sold and out shot a lot of the 700's. Probably why they aren't still around. Would like to find one in a carbine.

I have one in 7mm08, oops, now its my son's. carbine model of early 80s. cheap wood, I believe ash with walnut stain, but still shoots great with a leopold 31/2x10 vx111 scope. Paid more for the lens than the rifle back then...Mike

Jeff, thanks for the offer, but 243 is just not a favorite of mine. Just a personal thing you know; nothing against a 243.
