Did not hear that, hope it's not true; I like their 12 ga.1 oz. @ 1,180: decent price (was), clean and consistent.
Recently bought a flat online that had evidently been stored in high humidity; loss of plating and some rust, but they still went bang.

I, too, have shot a lot of estates. I believe they are just a rebranded federal top gun. That they are being discontinued is news to me.

Walmart near me had a lot of Estates last week. All 12 gauge 1 ounce 4 packs for $22.17 each. A month ago they had flats of 1 1/8 ounce Estates.

Talked to Federal's customer service yesterday and was informed that Estate shells are in the process of being discontinued. Pretty much a bummer, the boy and I shot the heck out of those and thought they shot well especially for the price. Anyone else hear this or maybe this is old news, not sure.

If that is true ,it proves Federal just keeps making one STUPID mistake after another. They RUINED the Federal Gold Medal shell and put out that "Grand " junk . Maybe with Vista Outdoor owning both them and Remington I'm wondering if Vista is just going to be pushing Gun Clubs as their promo shell?

Three piece hulls (hull, base wad and “brass” are cheaper and probably quicker to make than a 2 piece molded hull and “brass.” If you guys are going to complain about STS/Nitros costing 130 bucks and up for a flat, three piece shells may be the norm for Remington just like Federal and Winchester.

I've been loading Estates for a couple of months- they're my favorite hull for 1 oz loads with the Claybuster 12SO substitute. I only expected to get maybe 4 loadings out of them but have some that are on their 9th trip to the chamber and are just starting to show wear.

Oh my I hope not. I love the Estates! I shot the 1 oz 1180 FPS 8 shot for a long time. Also shot their 1145 FPS 1 1/8 oz 7.5 and 8 shot. Great shells.

Sorry to hear that. They used to be pretty good quality shells for the price. I think the lead used in them was fairly hard also. A year or two ago they suffered some quality issues with shells that were light (the report) and that soured some people.

I would take the Estate over Top Gun and Gun Club any day of the week.

I prefer the 1250 fps Estate Handicap shell over the 1250 fps Winchester Handicap shell. To me, the felt recoil seems to be less.
