Do Mini 14’s ever need to be cleaned???
I recently cleaned one of my Mini 14s more out of guilt than necessity. Too hot to work or shoot. I was amazed at how clean it was after shooting LOTS of cheap Russian steel cased ammo. They may not be all that accurate but they sure are rugged and dependable.

Some of that Russian ammo use dirty primers and powder, I would clean it after every session to preserve throat & barrel life. If you ever see any freckles between the lands that's the cause.

"MFlora" shooting a Mini-14 is like "Tron" shooting a "Tri-Star", now that's what I call a real "Pandemic" of sorts, its all good.

And why would you not clean it? In my world you shoot it you clean it, it's what they teach in the Marines. Accuracy is degraded with more crap in the barrel and the Mini 14 doesn't have much to spare. Mine is quite accurate at 200 yards but it's not a stock gun, lots of tweakin'.
