Can a Digital Trigger Gage be used to establish the set and release point of a release trigger?

Does a digital gage keep displaying the weight as you pull or release? I've seen some that can average multiple pulls. Wasn't sure how that worked.

I really think a lot of the Lyman digital, but it is only good for pull weight, and does not display release weight.

It will if you keep the trigger pulled back with you finger while re-setting the gauge. Then put the gauge back on & see where it reads at the release.
