Devault Mach One - Stiff to open

I’ve got a Dennis DeVault Mach One that I purchased used some time ago. As many of you know, the break-open lever is located in front of the trigger guard.
Since I’ve owned it, that push mechanism has always been on the stiff side, and it takes a fair amount of downward pressure on the barrels to get the gun to open.
Is this something that’s typical for the Mach One design, or is there a known adjustment/fix for it?

My two Perazzis are a bit stiff, and one's a 1973 and one a 1974.

I believe I would contact Phillip’s Gunsmithing in Emory Texas. A wealth of knowledge on most anything DeVault.

Begin by looking at how efficient your lubing techniqes and met hods are. the Perazzi comment is a good example. Often grease/oil lube of th ejector hook is the culprit.
