Now that the sequester is over my daughter finally got her promotion.About 2 months ago they told her she was getting promoted but because of the sequester they couldn't at that time. She is now oficially a Major in the U.S.A.F. Bulge.

They were nor allowed to spend additional funds. Therefore no increases in salaries. Higher rank higher pay scale. Didn't take the question as being a smart ass. I asked the same question. Bulge.

In the military, promotions are issued a couple of times a year. All candidates are given a line or promotion number based on merit and time in service/grade. Each year a finite number of promotion slots are approved by the JCS. Money is then appropriated for those promotions. The sequester caused the military to put a hold on promotions while directing funds to more mission critical expenses.

trim tab, She is with the 911th. It is a med evac.unit. She is a flight nurse and has been to Iraq twice, transporting wounded to and from Iraq to Ramstein air base in Germany.

She started out in the med. field by being a volunteer on the local ambulance units at 16, then went to Medevac on the helicopters. She now has 20+ years experience in the medical field. Thanks, Bulge.

Congratulations Bulge, please thank her for us. She has seen a lot of tough things to deal with. It's not right what we've done with our service people today. You have a lot to be proud of. Bob

Bob, when flight 27 went down in Aliquippa she was part of the clean up crew. They were literally finding limbs and torsos in the limbs of the trees. Mentally a very strong little lady. Bulge.
