Dating my BT99?

1476 Views 11 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Jjbenny
I checked the above site and I'm still in the dark about the date my old stand-by was made. The number is 72D12061.

Clearly, the *D* means it is a BT99 and I presume it was made between 1969 and 1975. Th *72D* might mean 1972, but the number doesn't exactly match the chart on the Browning site.

Am I correct in thinking my SBT was actually made in 1972?

Your BT-99 was built in 1972, how long it sat in warehouse before being sold is a question no one can answer.

Larry...If I were to date your BT99...do you know how much trouble I would be in from my Beretta's...They would fire my sorry ass out of here....
I know.LMAO....
I often wonder how much money I'd have if I would still be dating my first BT-99.

Just make sure you get her daddies permission before you take her out. BYG
I looked at this title and wondered if it had something to do with the Popes resignation etc

That is a 1973. Some of the early guns had the date numbers transposed. Mark
