That's what tears me up more than anything else. CZ makes a great product and the point about it being a good home for what was Colt Mfg. is reasonable commentary. But seeing another iconic American brand lost to poor management and predatory investors is a sad testimony to how we value our heritage. One after another goes the names and operations that made this country great - lost to the highest bidder for the scraps. It's just sad.

That’s not the point. You can bleed Mercia and MAGA all you want. You said there is “NO plus” to a foreign company buying an American company. That’s simply untrue. You may not like that Colt was poorly managed and made bad business decisions. But the fact that it was purchased is beneficial. Particularly for employees and bond holders.

I just told you, the enterprise continues to operate. Generally employees are retained, debt and liabilities can be satisfied.

I’m not saying that it wouldn’t have been better for Colt to have remained viable. But given that was not an option, selling the assets and liabilities is better than other alternatives.

Nope, I do understand that. That doesn’t always happen and is unlikely to happen in this instance given Colt’s real property holdings in the USA. Again, it may not be ideal, but it’s not the worst potential outcome given the situation. Enjoy your Friday Polo!

Regardless of anything else, Colt realized a better fate than Remington did. They'll probably come out better than Winchester did too.

It will be a cold, lonely time in the US if no one can participate in the US economy by purchasing a company.
US business purchases companies all over the world.
Close your doors to business and other countries will return the favor.
The logical result of many countries with closed doors is another World Depression.
