At my previous club we had a member who is an upholsterer make some covers out out waterproof boat top material to cover the sporting clays machines. They fit tight and do a great job of keeping everything dry, but you have to be very careful to lift them off perfectly evenly or they are a struggle to get off.

There a 1,000 liter plastic totes that can sometimes be had for $0.
They aren't perfect cubes so you have to figure which way to cut them diagonally to make two little tents.
Reinforce the edges with 2x, which also gives 'em a bit of weight to hold them down.
