I recently purchased a 1K pk of CCI 209 Shotshell primers lot# FN649.
Using a MEC 9000G 20 gauge reloader - extended primer tray
The primers were flipping, sticking, and hanging up in the tray/ tube.
Every 3-4 shell had issues.
I inspected the primers and the outter copper lip appeared to be corroded/ pitted on all. Then removed them from the tray and there was copper / rust/ corrosion on the inside of the tray.
Went back to using my Win. 209s...
I've never seen that before....Is this a common occurence with the CCI's?
Thanks
J.C.

No its not a common occurance with CCI primers. These are normally some of the best quality primers available. My guess is that what ever is going on is something that happened after the primers left the factory as in improper storage.

The last case I bought was actually rusted around the center. They all went boom but I switched to federal for a hotter primer. It kind of bothered me to buy new rusted primers.

I forgot, who makes CCI?
