Because someone put superglue in their chair when they got up to go to the Porta-Potty, now they can't get up. (actually I thought of doing that last year as I was leaving, should have done it!) AJ

I don't mind a police presence so long as it does not interfere with normal activity. I would rather have them where I can see them and not hiding over a hill or around a curve.

Compared to the 1st year, this year's police presence was almost invisible.

I did hear a few comments about the police watching our every move. They don't bother me.

Every time is see an Illinois police car, I think about Jake and Elwood Blues, the Blues Brothers.

Don't you know, this is Illinois, people with guns have to be watched. People with guns are a dangerous threat to our Homeland security. You should have been here the first year, more troopers than shooters. The biggest joke of the century. Lets have a big shoot here??? CED

Those of you who think they have too many law enforcement officers please send them to southeast Tennessee to help us get a handle on the growing gang problem. We will take all we can get as long as they are honest.

The police are here because it is a state park facility and they are required to provide police for on site security, traffic, enforcement, etc. I never worry about seeing the police, it makes me feel safer.

In Vandalia, it was common to have more than a dozen guns stolen every year. The first year in Sparta the SP caught two right away - predictably from Dayton planning to continue a career. Since then, I have not heard of a single intentional instance.

I talked to two CD cops who work late, occasionally shoot the sporting clays course, and go home to sleep. I have found all of them polite, helpful, and very interesting to talk to. I'm glad they are here.
