While shooting over the last few weeks I have experienced a problem with my 682 not cocking properly. Sometimes the bottom barrel will not cock when the gun is opened after a shot. I have to open and close it several times to get it to cock. It might happen once in a round, or it could happen several times in a row.

Have any of you experienced this issue? What was the problem?

Thanks,
TC

YES! I had it loooked at and he couldn't find anything wrong, just needed cleaning. two weeks later it started again. If I took the barrel off and put it back on it might be fine for 100 to 500 shots. Only the bottom barrel.

But then it started doubling. Which is why I now shoot a 725

Check the cocking rods in the bottom of the action - do they move freely?? Also check for burs or bends in them.

If there are a LOT of shells through it the rod can be worn - simple replacement should solve the issue.
