The Clark County School District is the fifth largest in the nation with over 300 public schools, but has been unresponsive in our quest to establish the USA High School Clay Target League in southern Nevada. Repeated attempts to foster a relationship with the schools has failed, at least up until this time. We hope that changes in the future.

In the meantime, working with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, we've gone directly to the parents and students and created our own version of an afterschool trapshooting league directed at 6th thru 12th grade students. We completed our first league May 22, and will now offer a statewide version with the 2024 Fall Afterschool Youth Trapshooting League beginning September 4.

I've attached the album (and album cover) from festivities and photos taken before and during the Awards Presentations held on the afternoon of May 22. Lots of happy kids, lots of happy parents. Hopefully they will attend future school board meetings and demand the USA High School Clay Target League be recognized by Clark County.

A hardcopy of the album is displayed on the counter of the Shotgun Center pro shop to be viewed by the public. We plan to add many new faces in the future.

September 13 update

The 2024 Fall After-School Youth Trapshooting League started September 4. A total of 70 enthusiastic students, all 6th thru 12th graders, will be competing in the 6-weeks of competition. Two, and possibly three teams are participating from the Capitol City Gun Club in Carson City. Attendance is up 250% over the Spring League!

A big thank you to all the coaches and parents for making this program a great success!

A little good advice for the students:
