I got a new Chrony,(Beta Master) and plan on trying it out tomorrow, anybody got any tips on using this thing..

just shoot high enough- work on that and figure out the height

thats the one with the seperate screen? I have that one- put the readout right by you

its a great chrony

Aim high and and you will also find it will save you money if you tape a tough piece of clear plastic over your display screen.

I have the gama model- seperate screen- you cant shoot it

its worth the 20 more dollars plus you can have the screen right next to you-

Yep mine has the seperate display also, I thought that it was a good option, has anybody shot the metal rods and if so did it damage the chrono?

I find that plastic grocery or drugstore bags over the screens seem to give the optimal amount of bright "shade" on sunny days.

I shot one of my friends rods the very first shot fired through it, I bought him new rods, it did not damage the machine, 125 grain nosler dead center of the rod out of an 30-30Ackley, was worth the price of the rods to see his face, although I did not do it on purpose, hehehehe honest I didn't hehhehehehe
