Can one explain why an occasional pierced primer is a problem?? I do like to recycle but I've never had any luck recycling primers!

Think of it as a teeny tiny little cutting torch aimed right at your firing pin and the surrounding breech face. If it happens 1% of the time the damage simply takes longer to show than at higher rates. It will absolutely erode the tips of your firing pins. The breech face is less common, but I have seen it happen. Which is why I personally have a "zero tolerance" for piercing. Can one explain why an occasional pierced primer is a problem??
