BT-99

Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith in Central Coast CA that can replace springs and put a pad on BT-99? I'm looking for someone that's has experience with BT's and other trap guns. I've looked at some work that people have done don't want someone that can't time a tang screw or use the wrong size screwdriver on them. I'm looking for a classically trained gunsmith. I don't want to sound picky but I want someone who takes pride in their work. I've had hacks work on my guns before...never again.

Don't know how close you are to Stockton, CA, but Ken Genecco at Genecco Gun Works can certainly to anything necessary on a BT-99. John

Thanks John,

Stockton is about 4 hours from where I live. I'm somewhat close to San Luis Obispo/Paso Robles area. I'm just getting back into trapshooting and really don't know where I can find a gunsmith that specializes in shotguns and stock work.

Thanks for the help.

Pat:
I live in SLO and shoot often at the San Luis Obispo Sportsmen's Association.
I understand that Jim Flynn, down in Santa Ynez is a good shotgun smith though I have no personal experience with him.
Here is some contact info from here on TS.com

Thanks Claysmoke27,

I did talk to him sometime ago and he informed me that he was in Florida now. He is is selling gun springs. He's the J of JnP gunsprings(I think/assume). A friend of mine told me about him sometime ago and highly recommended him. That's before I got back into trap and skeet. Darn.

Jim Flynn is indeed in Florida. Why don't you check with Norm Bridge in Paso Robles. If they can't do it for you, they can probably point you in the right direction.

If your that picky and you need one of the best, I would suggest the four hour drive to Stockton. Ken is one of the best and his wait times prove it.

Thanks everybody. I'll call Norm and see if he's changed springs on BT-99. He's only a hour from here.
