Had some trouble at the range - the bolt on my DA wouldn’t go back far enough to latch open.

Turns out the aluminum bolt buffer at the rear inside of the receiver had come loose (one of the two anchoring studs had broken off in the receiver) and was bouncing around in there.

I now have a NOS replacement part inbound.

So - a couple of questions for any of you who have dealt with a similar issue.

I haven’t been able to tap out the broken stud - should I just try harder, or give up and see if I can drill it out?

Also - what holds this piece in place - just the friction fit of the two studs?

I have a DA and am also interested in what the answer is. Is this a part that disintegrates over time and needs replacement?

I had messaged Tom about this before. I have never seen one break. DAKING provided an answer on another forum.
