Down , dirty and quick experiment.
Installed 20ga Briley Sidekick tubes in my Perazzi 29 1/2 in. 12 ga O/U barrels Choked F and IM. Proceeded to pattern board. At 25 yds. Using Winchester AA 20 ga. Shells. Fired 1 shot each barrel on steel board. Repeated 3 times. Then fired 20 ga. Benelli Supersport with Briley skeet choke tube using Winchester AA 20 ga. Shells. Repeated twice. Results: The shot patterns were very similar. Conclusions: The 12 ga Perazzi with 20ga Briley Sidekick tubes will make a very nice 20 ga Skeet gun.

I also have a pair of 20 gauge Sidekick tubes that I use in a little 26" barreled skeet gun (used for 16yd. trap targets and a bit of skeet) to help minimize recoil for some of my younger grandchildren. The barrels get sort of grungy, but the patterns are acceptable. It makes me wonder if Briley will put themselves out of the sub-gauge tube business?

Sidekicks work well but still prefer my sub gauge tubes

Going down one gauge 12 to 20, 20 to 28 is OK, when you jump down more than one gauge the pattern performance begins to drop more. Competitive skeet shooters and subgauge sporties will continue to use tube sets.
